Schoolpestfacts.com, a RISE (Responsible Industry for a Sound Environment) web site dedicated to safeguarding children's health in schools, won chapter and regional first place awards from the National Agri Marketing Association (NAMA).

RISE received the award during the Best of NAMA / Golden ARC Award Show for the Carolinas-Virginia chapter on January 21 in Raleigh, NC. Honoring the best work in agriculture communications, the program features categories in public relations, advertising and promotion. NAMA is a professional association for those involved in marketing communications, public relations, product management, or sales in the agribusiness industry.


Entered in the public relations category for Internet Websites - Directed to Consumers, www.schoolpestfacts.com is designed to educate parents, teachers, school facility managers and others about the problems associated with pests and how to control them.


Angela Bendorf Jamison, RISE communications specialist, created the site with assistance from web designer, Marlee Margulies of Blue Pumpkin Group. Margulies also serves as web master for the site.
